Supported to Thrive - Jumping Higher and Leaping Further

“Supported to Thrive” is my self-care philosophy.  It’s a personal journey that needs the special nuances that only you know about your life.  (I wrote an article about what I mean by “supported to thrive” and a springboard for your own journey which can be read for free in the Planner Girl Magazine Issue # 6 and listened to on the Planner Girl Magazine Podcast.)

Supporting yourself to thrive isn’t staying in your comfort zone.  Going after the things that challenge you is part of a fulfilling and thriving life.  The key is to know what support you need as you take those leaps and give that to yourself.

It’s like in ballet when one dancer supports the other dancer to jump higher, leap further, and dance in a way they couldn’t reach on their own.  That extra support allows them to go where they would not be likely to reach without it.

Support can be external (like in ballet) but it usually comes from within and the things we put in place in our life.

A few examples of support…

  • morning routine

  • journaling

  • good sleep

  • time to enjoy nature

  • a simple priority list

  • exercise at a level that’s right for your body

  • food that nourishes your body

  • creating with your hand

  • self-compassion

  • prayer

  • coffee with a friend

  • setting goals in a way that feels like a gift

  • therapy

  • coaching

What is support to you?  What do you need to give yourself permission to create and use your own list to define it for your life?
